Respectfully Quoted: A Dictionary of Quotations. 1989.

AUTHOR: Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. (1908–72)
QUOTATION: I take the view that equality is equality … and that I am a member of Congress as good as anybody else. As long as it is within the law, it’s not wrong…. If the law is wrong, change the law.

I do not do any more than any other member of the Congress, but by the Grace of God, I’ll not do less!
