Macleod, Norman. A distinguished Scottish divine, and miscellaneous writer; born at Campbeltown, June 3, 1812; died at Glasgow, June 16, 1872. Among his works are: ‘The Earnest Student’ (1854), a biography; ‘Parish Papers’ (1862); ‘Wee, Davie’ (new ed. 1865); ‘The Starling’ (1867), a Scotch story; ‘Peeps at the Far East’ (1871); ‘Character Sketches’ (1872); etc. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
