Clarence A. Walworth (1820–1900)

Walworth, Clarence Alphonsus. An American clergyman; born in Plattsburg, NY, May 30, 1820; died at Albany, Sept. 19, 1900. At first a lawyer, afterwards an Episcopalian clergyman, he united with the Roman Catholic Church, and was one of the founders of the Congregation of St. Paul; from 1864 rector of St. Mary’s Church, Albany, NY. He wrote ‘The Gentle Sceptic’ (1860); ‘The Doctrine of Hell’ (1874); ‘Andiatorocté, and Other Poems.’
