Atticus Green Haygood (18391896)
Haygood, Atticus Green. An American Methodist divine, and religious and miscellaneous writer; born at Watkinsville, GA, Nov. 19, 1839; died in 1896. He became bishop in 1890. He wrote: ‘The Monk and the Prince,’ a study of Savonarola and Lorenzo de’ Medici; ‘Our Brother in Black’ (1881); ‘Pleas for Progress’ (1889); etc.
