Construction is always demanded because there are always repairs needed or new buildings being constructed. In a city there is more demand for these kind of jobs because there is more people and more buildings than a rural or country area. The total number of jobs for construction in 2014 was 945,400 with a 6% increase for the next 10 years. The estimated employment change for 2024 is 60,400. With these statistics, it shows that the jobs for this particular occupational field is increasing. In 2015, California was the state that had the biggest job increase in construction. Bill Nye stated, “Climate change is happening, humans are causing it, and I think this is perhaps the most serious environmental issue facing us.” Humans are not only causing the climate change that Nye mentioned, but are also destroying the environment by wasting resources. The world has a serious problem that, if not dealt with right away, will lead to environmental catastrophe. However some people may ignore this warning from Nye and use the argument that the United States doesn’t need to worry about the environment because more pressing matters exist. In today’s world everyone uses energy and resources to meet their daily needs, but some of it is wasted unintentionally. The American government and its citizens have the responsibility to reduce this waste.

These three sectors of the construction industry contributed $39.9 billion to the overall $73.8 billion. The second largest sector lies in residential construction contributing $23.4 billion.

In 2012, there were 1,284,600 jobs available for laborers. There are usually more jobs available in busy cities because of all the buildings and lights. There are so many things to be built and reconstructed in the city so a lot of construction workers live in cities to find jobs more easily. The top five states that have the most construction laborers are, Oklahoma, Illinois, Florida, Texas, and California. There is no specific region where construction happens. It is alway going on whether they are getting paid or not, someone is always fixing or building things. The projections in the next ten years is that construction shouldn’t change that much because somebody is always going to have to fix stuff or build houses.

We as a society have reached one of the most crucial time periods in the history of our world. Due to the way we have used the resources on this earth we have created a situation in which our climate is drastically changing. The burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil has caused gases like carbon dioxide to become trapped in the atmosphere causing a natural greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect has caused the earth’s average temperature to rise and has resulted in arctic glaciers melting. These glaciers had gases trapped inside them that are now being released into the atmosphere further raising the earth's temperature. Due to the way we are polluting our air we have caused global warming. This global warming has caused stronger natural disasters such as hurricanes and wildfires putting our society in more danger than ever before.

The construction industry much like other industries is dependant with the distribution of “scarce resources” (Drake,1994). Construction industry plays an important part as a stimulant in Malaysia’s economy. The Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) was established as a government agency to facilitate and act as a catalyst to the development, is generally representing the construction industry to the government and the public. According to Hiap (2012), the CIDB published a ten year Construction Industry Master Plan (CIMP) towards the end of year 2007, the aim is to refocus the strategic position and charting the future direction of the industry.

No matter how much we are informed about it , we as a society seem to ignore the future disasters that global warming will acquire. Global warming is a “global” dilemma and everyone has an obligation to help reduce emissions.
