Étienne Michel Faillon (1800?1870)
Faillon, Étienne Michel (fä-yô‘). A French historical writer; born in Tarascon, France, about 1800; died in Paris, Oct. 25, 1870. He visited Canada in 1854. He wrote lives of the ‘Ven. M. Olier’ (1853); ‘Marguerite Bourgeoys’; ‘Mlle. Maure’; ‘Madame d’Youville’; ‘Mlle. le Ber’; and a comprehensive history of the French in Canada, three volumes of which appeared before his death.
