Sebastian Franck (1499–1542)

Franck, Sebastian. A German prose Pietist and spiritual and ethical writer; born in Donauwörth, 1499; died in Basle, Switzerland, 1542. He was a priest who enlisted warmly in the cause of the Reformation, and wrote two edifying compilations, ‘Proverbs’ (1541) and a ‘World-Book’ (1534); besides historical and descriptive tracts.
