Lucius Accius (c. 170–c. 86 B.C.)

Accius or Attius, Lucius (ak’shi-us). A Latin tragic poet; born about 170 B.C.; died about 86 B.C. He took most of his themes from Grecian history and mythology; but in some instances he dramatized scenes from the history of Rome, for example, in his tragedy of ‘Brutus.’ Only fragments of his works remain.
