Leopoldo Pullè (Leo di Castelnovo) (1835–1917)

Pullè, Leopoldo, Count (Leo di Castelnovo) (käs-tel-nō’vō). An Italian dramatist and poet; born in Verona, April 17, 1835; died in 1917. He was conspicuous politically, and wrote a number of plays, mostly comedies; the best being probably ‘Drink or Choke’ [‘O bere o affogare,’ meaning a case of Hobson’s choice] and ‘A Dead Heart.’ ‘Harp and Guitar’ is a verse collection. Notable too is his novel, ‘Do the Dead Return?’
