Joseph Marius von Babo (17561822)
Babo, Joseph Marius von (bä’bō). A German dramatist (1756–1822); author of a series of plays of chivalry in imitation of Goethe’s ‘Götz,’ among which ‘Otto von Wittelsbach’ (1781) had the greatest success. Two comedies, ‘Homely Happiness’ (1792) and ‘The Pulse’ (1804), also found much favor.
