Adolf Ebeling (1827–1896)

Ebeling, Adolf (ā’bel-ing). A German descriptive and historical writer; born in Hamburg, October 24, 1827; died at Cologne, July 20, 1896. ‘Living Pictures from Modern Paris’ (1863–67); ‘Rainbows in the East’ (1868), a series of Oriental epics, legends, or ghazels; ‘Napoleon III. and his Court’ (1891–93); are the fruit of large travel and study. He wrote also many biographical studies and travel sketches.
