This profit based approach to management is likely to reflect negatively on the characteristics of employees and the way they work, becoming less conscientious and careful. If workers are rushed and under pressure mistakes are likely to creep in that could be detrimental to their safety. Also with the company being so focused on profits this may lead to physical hazards such as poorly maintained machinery or using old, inadequate machinery that is not fit for purpose. It is the employers duty to provide a safe place of work and safe suitable plant.
