However, the main focus of the narrative illustrates the overall elimination of slavery in society by Douglass whereas Andrew only focused upon the life experience of Douglass in his narrative rather than talking about the stereotypical idea of removing the social issues from the society. The narrative analyses the opposition that were the supporters of slavery in Maryland whereas Douglass tried to reorganize the stages of his life around the opposition of slavery and build up his own identity whether it was in North or South of America.
