How AI/ML have transformed an area that is familiar to you? Please be sure to discuss:
Social media marketing
1.
What it was like before the arrival of AI/ML?
Before AI/ML, social media marketing was like throwing darts blindfolded.
Marketers would create content, post it on social platforms, and hope it reached
the right audience. They had to manually analyze data, like the number of likes,
shares, and comments, to understand what worked. It was time-consuming and
often hit or miss.
2.
What was the value-added of AI/ML?
●
Audience Insights: AI/ML can deeply understand user behavior on social
media. This allows marketers to show content to precisely the right
people, increasing engagement and conversions.
●
Content Optimization: AI suggests the best times to post content for
maximum visibility. It can even recommend content ideas based on trends
and past performance.
●
Chatbots: Many businesses now use AI-driven chatbots for instant
customer service, answering questions, and engaging with users 24/7.
●
Ad Targeting: AI analyzes user data and behaviors to target ads more
effectively. This means you're more likely to see ads relevant to your
interests.
3.
What is the biggest change after the introduction of AI/ML?
The most significant change is the level of personalization and efficiency. Social
media marketing has become like a personal shopper. Users see content,
products, and ads tailored to their preferences. Businesses can reach their ideal
customers more precisely and have a better understanding of what works
through data analysis.
4.
What do you think it will be headed?
AI/ML is going to keep growing in the future. We can expect:
●
Advanced Personalization: AI will get even better at predicting user preferences,
making marketing content even more tailored.
●
Enhanced Customer Experience: AI-driven chatbots and virtual assistants will
provide quicker and more helpful customer support.
●
Data Privacy Concerns: As AI collects and uses more data, concerns about data
privacy and security will continue to grow.
●
New Social Platforms: AI may lead to the creation of entirely new social media
platforms, or transformation in the way we interact with existing ones.

Recall 1 marketing communication that resonated with you. This could be a TV ad, sales promotion, or an event from the 2000's (or even later). Try to find the material in Youtube or in other platforms. Evaluate whether this marketing communication was effective for you.
Now, with the same company, try to find a marketing communication material they used in the past 3 years. Compare the 2 campaigns and share your insights. Explain how the company shifted or maintained its strategy.
Here is one example: Jolibee. In the 90s, their TV ads (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etI-Ac8VtrU) are focused on their products. You will notice that their ads have multiple shots of their food items. Now they use platforms, such as Facebook and Youtube to create viral videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGH4TBl7v-0) that trigger all sorts of emotions. There is less focus on the product, but more focus on the experience. All their stories anchor on Jolibee as a place or food items that the…
