You have been asked to develop a session plan for a group fitness class you will deliver to a group of clients. Give at least 3 examples of considerations you would need to outline in this plan. 1. The duration of the class. 2. The age range of the class. 3. Any limitations/health concerns from a prescreen. 2. In the space below, write your own pre-class introductions to a group of participants. Make sure to include in your instructions any health and safety information relevant to the group. Your introduction also needs to include a group pre-screen for injuries and illness. Your introduction should be a short pre-class script which includes an introduction of yourself, what the class will include, and a verbal pre-screen. Hi, everyone, welcome to my class. My name is Giho and I will be your instructor for today. Today’s class is tabata style in the form of high intensity interval training. To give you a bit more information on the class, it will be included 8rounds of various exercises for intervals of 20seconds of continuous exercise and 10seconds of rest. This class will go for 45mins which also includes a warm up and cool down, but you are more than welcome to leave at any time. Before we start the class, I would like to ask if anyone has had previous or existing injuries or health problems that may harm or limit them from exercise. Alright, I will now demonstrate all the exercises that will be included in today’s class and include the regression version of each. Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions during the demo. As a result, they are becoming frustrated and quite disruptive in the class. How can you assist this participant with their workout and keep them from distracting the rest of the group?Please provide at least 3 examples of strategies you could implement. 1. Ask them if they would like to jog on the spot on the spot for exercise they can’t perform if they don’t want to do the modified version. 2. Ensure they are suitable to continue the class while encouraging them. Reassure that they don’t need to compete with others in the class, that they are simply doing their best. 3. Give them a regression version of the exercises they are struggling with. 5. What are the different types of people you might have in your group fitness classes? What might their health and fitness goals be? Please provide at least 3 examples below. An example has been provided for you. Types of People Health and Fitness Goals Pre-Natal Mothers Maintain cardiovascular fitness and muscle strength; strengthen lower back muscles; and stress relief. You are a Group Exercise instructor conducting a high intensity circuit class. You can see that one of your participants is unable to perform some of the more complex exercises. How can you provide exercise modifications for this class participant without disrupting the rest of the class? Offer modifications/regressions to the entire class for each exercise and monitor each participant closely and model the regressed exercise as needed and offer cues and correction for both the regressed exercise and the original exercise. 7.
