Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (Chalk and Wire) 2 In the era of digital transformation, cloud computing has revolutionized the way organizations manage their IT infrastructure and applications. As organizations transition to cloud-based deployments, it significantly influences their Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery strategies. Cloud deployment introduces several benefits for Business Continuity Plans in a cloud platform it offers redundancy and high availability across geographically distributed data centers, minimizing the risk of single points of failure and enhancing resilience against disruptions. This redundancy helps to prevent data loss or service interruptions in the event of hardware failures, natural disasters, or other unforeseen circumstances (Wiggins et al., 2024). loud-based applications and data can be accessed from any location with internet connectivity, enabling remote work capabilities and ensuring business operations can continue even in the face of physical disruptions or emergencies. Some of the advantages that Disaster Recovery in the Cloud offers are cost efficiency and rapid recovery. Cloud-based DR solutions eliminate the need for organizations to invest in and maintain dedicated secondary data centers, reducing capital expenditures and operational costs associated with traditional DR infrastructure. The ability to quickly recover from a disaster reduces financial losses and prevents business disruptions (UTILITIES ONE, 2023). Faster recovery times by leveraging virtualization and snapshot technologies, allowing organizations to restore critical systems and data more swiftly in the event of a disaster or outage is a huge advantage. Assess the cloud provider's backup frequency and data replication capabilities to ensure that your RPO objectives are met (UTILITIES ONE, 2023). While cloud deployment enhances BC and DR capabilities, organizations must address several challenges and considerations with on challenge being that organizations must ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards when migrating sensitive
